The exhibition [REC]ORDS. Life Through Home Cinema, at CaixaForum Barcelona, traces over a century of family films that have become an audiovisual heritage of remarkable sociological, anthropological and historical value. Home-made images reveal a distinctive language in which imperfections and technical glitches serve as marks of authenticity. Today, these traits persist in digital videos recorded on mobile phones and shared online, woven into everyday communication. Through unpublished materials and often counter-hegemonic narratives, the exhibition examines the technological and social evolution of home cinema and explores how the camera shapes visual memory and our understanding of reality.
